LightSaver™

An incredible device that can save lives
during a fire. It outlines a door or passage
way with a pulsating light when a fire is
detected. This posed many design
challenges including long battery life. It is
TheLightThatSavesLives™. Our most
latest and proud development that has
just entered production.
NoMouse
Want to control your computer mouse with
your foot. Now you can with the fantastic
NoMouse. It is USB. It has no moving parts
and as such detects foot pressure. Well
sealed from liquids or dust it can
supplement your present mouse or pointer
device or may be used to control
programs. This is just now entering
production.
Remote Control
Want to control your computer or some other device from a
handheld PDA (Personal Digital Assitant), well this can do it for
you! We wrote the software for a running program in the PDA
to control a BlueTooth receiver that in turn controls the speed
of a fan. The BlueTooth controlled device we also designed
ourselves. We are very experienced with software, radio
control, and the electronics to control AC motors.
Alpha Numeric Touch Controller
This is an alphanumeric touch screen
display controller. In addition to the
electronics, we also designed the physical
enclosure fitted in a bezel. The eight button
areas are silkscreened under clear plastic
and are capacitive sensing which means no
moving parts to wear out. Since it is not a
resistive touch screen, scratches won't wear
it out. The user can use any combination of
touch areas around the display, designed
according to customer needs.
Color Graphics Display Controller
This is an active matrix graphics touch screen
controller. It can be programmed for many user
applications. Presently it is used in a hood system as
a controller for lights, hood door motor, and exhaust
fan control. It also monitorspressure differential
across filters to detect filter clogging. We also made
two plastic enclosures for this. One is a panel mount
and the other is a box.
LSP Motocross Timer
As simple as it looks this had some very
interesting design challenges. This is used to
time laps when motocross racing. It also had to
record multiple sessions. There are two LED's
that are visible in sunlight. They indicate to the
user whether the present lap is faster or slower
than the previous lap. It is built with "rugged" in
mind. In addition it was designed to possess a
long battery life. The MXA test crew rated this
product a "4 out of 5 stars and an essential tool
for any serious rider". See LSPTimer.
Phaco-Vitrectomy System
This system uses a graphics touch screen
controller. It is used in eye surgery to remove
cataracts. It does this with an ultrasonic
handpiece that shatters and breaks-up the
lens in the eye. It has built-in cautery for
sealing bleeding blood vessels and a
controlled peristaltic pump for irrigation. We
designed all the electronics and software for
this. It was designed for American Optisurgical.
Phaco-Vitrectomy System
This is a stackable phaco vitrectomy eye surgical
medical system. It had optional units such as a light
source for illuminating the inside of the eye, a
Fragmatome, and a fluid exchange system. They are
all controlled together and communicate with each
other. In addition, the displays are all very visible lit
alpha-numeric LED's.
Medical Device Foot Control
This foot control is used to control medical systems in
operating rooms. It is built to be rugged and to
withstand liquid spills and liquid immersion. We
designed it with RS-232 serial data control to allow it
to be connected to different systems.
High Power Oscillator
This device is an electronic oscillator. It is used for
transformer testing in a power supply company. High
power and variable frequency along with an
undistorted sine wave output is a requirement. It was
originally made for Cherokee International Inc. In
addition it was also used for speaker testing.
